Tears are universal,
They speak a language we all know.
They tell of hurt and sadness,
And the fear we wish would go.
We all cry tears for different reasons,
Some from loss, some from pain,
Some from being touched as a little girl,
And knowing we’ll never be the same.
With tears we try many things,
Try to fight them or hold them back,
Let them go or let them flow,
Even let them move us to act.
Tears accompany our emotions,
They tell a story of their own,
What we feel, where we’ve been,
Or how through the pain we’ve grown.
Through every heartache, every tear,
God has been there all along,
He speaks a better Word over you,
As He sings His redemptive song.
Yes, He was always there,
Every time that you were beat,
Every time he touched you wrong,
God never took a seat.
He did not sit there idle,
Lying back without a care,
Neither did He underestimate,
The load that you would bear.
